A great collection of articles from the first 10 years of Bitch magazine's existence. The authors cover a wide range of subjects and aspects of pop culture with wit and intelligence.

This is a collection of articles/essays, so it's easy to read one and then go for a few weeks before remembering to come back to another. Reading several in a row can be really depressing, because of how true they are. But a lot of the writers focused on the impact of the riot grrl scene in the early 90s, and I was just a wee one then. People my age aren't really aware that the riot grrl thing even happened, because it's been so neatly swept away- but that made it hard for me to connect to the authors' points about the movement.

It's certainly interesting to read the essays and then immediately go on the authors' websites and have a look at how far they've come, and how different things are. Also interesting was looking at the predictions from ten years of social commentary and compare them to how things really worked out.
