Fantasy and history collide in Awakening!

I'm not sure if it was the really cool cover or the fact that Kallie works in a museum that left me wanting to read Awakening. I mean, fantasy really isn't my usual genre and this book is a fantasy with a dash of historical. Tracy Higley is known for her excellent Biblical fiction stories but I hadn't read any of them before this book, so I really had no idea what to expect. Believe me, Awakening only whet my appetite for more of Tracy's books.

One of the story elements that I really enjoyed was how the events in Kallie's life mirror the story she is writing, sometimes occurring in the story before they do in her real life. It really keeps the reader guessing.

Awakening is an exciting story of danger, betrayal, romance, and sacrifice, set in some of the loveliest and most historical locations in the world. Don't miss Tracy Higley's latest thrilling adventure!

(I received a copy of this book from the author through TBCN in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are entirely my own.)

This is a fascinating and interesting book. I loved the two interwoven stories. The ending was not what I was expecting. It gave me much to ponder during the hours after I finished reading it. Awakening is a very unique novel. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, I highly recommend this book. It should appeal to readers who enjoy both contemporary and ancient historical fiction.
