This is a great spy thriller by a master of the genre.
Forsyth is considered a master of bestselling international suspense and intrigue and he returns in this novel with a vengeance igniting a time bomb of a story that is fascinating and unfolds an intricate tale. If you liked The Day of the Jackal you will also like the Avenger.
Easy reading. Typical Fortsyth. Keeps you on edge till the end.
Excellent!! Very exciting, fast paced. A facinating and intricate tale that will remind reader of the "Day of the Jackal"
I was dissapointed. Forsyth didn't give me that guts-in-the teeth, blood-dripping- down-my-chin revenge so clearly called for. Was he going PC on us in 2003? (I have to give him a "Thank you" for his exposition on our incredibly brave, unsung heroes, who called themselves "The Tunnel Rats". Daring physical and psychological risks inconcievable to civilians, they saved many of our troops lives at great cost to themselves. Thank you guys- you never got the recognition you deserved.)
This was one of his best. I will definitely reread it at least once.
Forsyth goes to the headlines and pulls together a narrative that almost seems like it is true story
I have read Vince Flynn and David Baldacci and Kyle Mills and Daniel Silva....All very good and very "thrilling."
Yesterday I found "The Avenger" in my bookcase and decided I should see if I wanted to read it.
I just finished it. Oh, the younger guys are good, very very good, but this man, Frederick Forsyth, is still the Master. WOW!!!!!
