I am a huge fan of the singer Morrissey. He's been my favorite singer as well as an idol and influence on me since I was 13 years old.
However, even if you're only a a more casual fan of his, I highly recommend this book.

It's not a typical autobiography at all. If you're expecting a detailed account of how he writes his songs, then you'll be sadly disappointed.
Like Morrissey's music, the book is very sensitive, very emotional, a tad hysterical at times, and most of all quite intimate.Morrissey recounts hurt feelings, favorite movies and tv shows, romantic and platonic relationships, untimely deaths of relatives and friends. He also talks so eloquently about the love he feels for his fans and his bandmates...his current ones, anyway.

It's beautifully written, eloquent, lilting, but coarse and street-smart at times.

If you're a fan of Morrissey's, you'll leave an even bigger fan, like I did. If you're not, you'll be entertained and probably learn more about indie music and obscure movies than you did before. In either case, I can't recommend this highly enough!
