Justine W. reviewed The Autism Mom's Survival Guide (for Dads, too!): Creating a Balanced and Happy Life While Raising a Child with Autism on
Helpful Score: 1
This book is very honest and unbiased. Susan Senator takes on the task of talking about how to cope with autism when your world seems so submerged in it, but she does it without really making it all about autism, which surprised me. I mean that she doesn't try to convince you which therapy or diet is best or focus on behaviors and specific challenges. She takes into account that everyone's struggles and experiences with autism are different but whatever they are, I think this book is very helpful and uplifting. She does site specific references which was also helpful. I actually think that this book would be helpful to anyone with a child who has special needs, not just autism.
