Another great read from Alyssa Day. Her Warriors of Poseidon consistently give a good read with lots of action, interesting characters, and a well crafted world.

The hero this time round is Christophe [who the reader has occasionally wanted to slap and various characters have grown steadily more concerned about] over the last several books. He's been sent to steal one of the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London [it's one of the Trident Jewels] and seems to be rather bored with the task - until he meets the heroine who has her own plans for the same jewel. Of course while she beats a hasty retreat [having tranked him] and he follows her home someone else steals the jewel...

The Fae have a much larger role in this book - previously they have made dramatically enigmatic appearances but haven't really been a major mover in the plots. There is one major complication that is left unresolved at the end of the book - setting the scene for a future book, no doubt.

This is a series where is order is pretty important - the short stories [2 & 4 below] are a bit peripheral to the story line but try to read in order. You'll enjoy them more!

Seems like the farther into this series the author gets, the less she finds to write about. I got this book because I gave it another chance. Never did figure out how Atlantis was betrayed, tho. The hero even seemed a bit 'off' from previous books.
Not sure if I'm expecting too much or Alyssa Day is bored with this series.

I couldn't get into this one. I had a really hard time justifying Lady Fiona's need to steal. The characters just didn't capture my interests. I have read other books in the series (not in order) and found them pretty fun.

Christophe is dedicated to Conlan and his warriors and a fierce fighter. He is also quite arrogant. He just doesn't like humanity the Fae or most "others". As he is attempting to steal one of the stones from Poseidon's trident, he runs into Fiona who is part Fae and a cat burglar. She is also after the stone. He convinces her and her brother and butler to join with him to make it easier.
This book is very lighthearted. Christophe grows up a lot. I had been worried about Christophe. He was the weak link among the fighters. And one wondered if he could truly be trusted.
Christophe's childhood is revealed explaining why he is the person he is.
One of my favorites books.
