The single most powerful book I've ever experienced. It is simply a life changing event. Reading this book and living this Artist's Way, opens ourselves up to the glorious nature of the world and creativity. This should be required reading. For everyone. Especially the people who don't think they are an artist. Art is life. We are all creative and feel better when we express it. And art is boundless. You can express it anyway you want. Whatever it is that you want, this book is it.

Thank you Julia Cameron. Thank you.

In "The Artist's Way" Julia Cameron offers the potential for a life-changing experience. Shed old habits; develop better ones. Trust your creative instincts. Feed the artist within. Dozens of great lessons for the artist hiding shyly within each of us. Even more for the artist who thinks she already knows herself well. Some of my friends and I discovered new talents, even new passions, as we worked through the 12-part course. I recommend it highly.

I highly recommend this book, not only to artists, and potential artists and writers, but to anyone and everyone who wants to get to know themselves a little better. The exercises in the book are excellent for helping you to figure out what you really want in life and how to go about creating a life of your own choosing. I got extra copies to share with my daughters!

This is a very helpful book for anyone who wants to become more creative. Except for the frustration of the author's new-agey language at times, I have found working through the creative exercises very encouraging and inspiring. I actually purchased a second copy for my son's finacee who is being pressured to be "practical" rather than pursue her dream of becoming a writer and artist. Highly recommended!

This is a great way to awaken the "artist" in each of us. It is best if read and done as a group of those whom you can feel comfortable with. There is a website that goes with this book and is a really good companion.

The study takes timw and the morning pages are really important, but worth the time involved.

Great book, follow the same line as the Law of Attraction, the secret, the Alchemist, Think and Grow Rich etc...Self help authors believe the force is in you, to release their force inside is the quest of life.
As a born again Christian I like the book in the sense that we must think positively, my only concern is that positive thinkers tend to substitute the personal Creator for some unidentified force in the Universe that acted like god.
It is an interesting book , the bible says: "Read (examine) everything, keep the good" I Thess. 5:21. A lot of good gems in Cameron's book to think about.

This is the book I discovered long ago and ended up returning to writing on a full time basis. Julia gets you going and keeps you going for weeks to come.

The Artist Way opens up the channels of creative expression by use of various Spiritual practices. At first I thought it was very heavy on Spiritual disciplines but as I looked further ahead (and I admit, I cheated and looked ahead) I saw that the emphasis is on the end Creativity and she tells us to "Think of discipline as a battery, useful but short-lived". Julia shows us how to use the "battery" to start the vehicle of Creativity rolling. The book is set up to be used over a 12 week period, one chapter per week. It has a guide in the back for "Creative Clusters" (groups where people support each other in this artistic awakening process. There is also a table of contents, an appendix called "Trail Mix", a reading list, and an Index. This is a wonderful book set up in a very usable manner.
