As good as I thought Goldberg's book Bias was, Arrogance is even better. If you think that the bias in news programs or in the paper is limited to how they handle politicians, read this. It will open your eyes to the many ways the public is being "handled" by the media.

Don't let the date of this publication fool you - it is VERY relevant for today, and many of the themes and stories mentioned as examples will resonate with even the busiest of people who barely notice the news (like me). This book/CD should be required reading/listening for every citizen in the US today. I feel as if my eyes have been opened. Ever hear something on the news, or read something in the paper, and it just doesn't sit right with you? Ever ask yourself, "is THAT really news, or is that just something that particular network wants me to think is important?" Ever see a lot of redundancy and repetition between the networks, the newspapers, and the radio news? Ever wonder why the delivery of these stories is so similar and the slant is so obvious? You HAVE TO read/hear this book. I can't believe I missed out on this book when it came out a few years ago, and I'm glad I got the CD version so I could listen in my car. I'm not a conspiracy theory nut, so I never get into themes of that sort, but this book is not about conspiracy. It's about paying attention to your sources, following the money, and understanding who is controlling the flow of information. Once you hear the details, so much will make sense to you. Get this book and then pass it on when you're done.
