This book has two stories going at once. Its a sad read. Good, but sad. The very end (I'm talking the last two pages) was predictable. I'll say it is a good read, but not one of her best. Just too sad.

This book is older, from 1992, so it's kind of dated, but I found that I still enjoyed it. A great way to spend a saturday afternoon. I basically liked this book because there's some sneaky twists in the story. Exactly what I was looking for in a good thriller. I loved the exploration of a person suffering with MPD...it added so much suspense and depth to the story!
As with all of her books, once you get remotely close to the conclusion, it is near impossible to put the book down.

This book is OK, but not one of Mary Higgins Clark's best. One of the reasons could be that it is abridged, and I prefer unabridged so that I can really get into the characters. If you are a fan of Mary Higgin's Clark, you will, of course, want to read this book along with all her others. But it wouldn't be my first choice.

This is a great whodunit. Although I did have some suspicions regarding the suspect, I did not come close to guessing some of the places this plot takes the reader. A slightly different twist than I have seen before regarding a character with multiple personalities, appears to be pretty realistic with the portrayal. A very enjoyable book I stayed up late to finish it because I couldnt wait to find out what happened!

I love the fact that Clark writes about characters that you can feel sympathy for and care about. I feel her choice to use multiple personality disorder as the theme to this mystery is fascinating and added depth to the story line. The closer you came to the end of the story the faster the pages were turning.

This was my first Mary Higgins Clark novel.. I read it in highschool and LOVED it! It's still one I recommend when someone asks about a good mystery.
I love this book, I always give my beaten up copy to my friends when they ask for a book. I love the focus on Laurie and her ordeal, as well as how her kidnappers are portrayed. I did not except the big revelation, but the last four or so pages were very typical Clark.
A good read. Different take on most of the author's other mysteries. Somewhat predictable though. Still hard to put the book down until the end.
This mystery began were Laurie at a very early stage of life was abducted right in front of her own house. Little did she know her whole life would start to change. Bicycle and Opal were her abductors. Little Laurie developed many personalities inside of her in an effort to cope. Eventually, she's returned home at the age of 12. You can only imagine what the family went through after her return home. I warn you there is so much more to complete this story you just can't put this story down. It pulls you in more and more. A Great Thriller.
This is an awesome book. I recieved it in the mail and had read the whole thing in a 24 hour period. I could not put it down. I really felt drawn in by the characters and the story was suspensful.

Mary Higgins Clark is an exceptional writer who keeps you in suspense and on the edge of your seat in all of her books and this one does the same!
I started reading Mary Higgins Clark books with my grandmother, and from my 4th grade on, we were swapping Mary Higgins Clark books back and forth between one another. This one is probably my favorite, however. I re-read it from time to time (as with most of her books, this is a VERY fast read) when I am looking to read an exciting book, or feel like reading about Multiple Personality Disorder.

All the evidence points to an obsessed student, 21-year-old Laurie Kenyon, who sent him passionate letters, followed him, even watched him through his study window--and awakens in her dorm room, covered with Grant's blood and clutching the knife that killed him. Attorney Sarah Kenyon, Laurie's sister, alone understands Laurie's daily nightmare and the trauma left by a childhood kidnapping too hideous to be recalled. ALL AROUND THE TOWN by Mary Higgins Clark is a murder mystery involving two sisters. Laurie Kenyon is the younger sister, and her story starts with her kidnapping years ago when she was only 4 years old. She disappeared for 2 years, only to be found again, but never to be the same happy child she once was. Sarah Kenyon is her older sister. This book is about a college senior accused of murder and the televangelist couple who abused her as a child. I have a double copy of this book and haven't read it yet, but being Mary Higgins Clark, I'm sure it's a great read!
