A most interesting book about a man named Lyle,\ who loves the sea. This unusual story is about living in a the State of Salt and a sea area. Key characters are a tentacled god, the Polyp, and Lyle, a talented sculpturer who despices Salt. Lyle defaces a statue to demonstrate his unhappiness about how Salt treats its natural resources. Sitting atop the statue he watches the water engulf his favorite area. Of course, he is arrested but the tale takes another turn which focuses on how one individual might change a world. It's creative and thought provoking. This story helps the reader see what happens when so much of a world's natural resources destruction with its quiet places may affect those who treasure and value such areas. Since I'm one who treasures such places I truly enjoyed this read.
