I wonder if anyone else is growing these this year?   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_cucumber

It's my novelty crop and I had expected it to be a corkscrew cucumber but the cukes are fairly straight. We haven't tasted any yet as they aren't quite long enough but I wonder if the taste will be more like a cucumber----most likely the seedless ones----or like melon.

Tasted it finally and it's nearly tasteless without being piockles or drowned in some dressing, it's very hard so needs to be sliced very thinly, my conclusion is that it's not worth the growing space.

It may not be worth the space but these cukes cost $3.99 each at our natural food store.  And the thing I loved about the one I splurged on, was that it lasted forever and was about 24" long so I could only use it in pieces.
