Story of a group of soldiers making their way through occupied Germany post WWII. Much humanity has already been stripped away from the place and the people, and the sad tales of how one can sink to new lows can be surprising.

This is one of the best books written about Germany at the end of the W.W.II. Shocking but very informative. The Soviets v. the world. The Soviets v. humanity. Who should be punished after the war is over? When do you stop the punishement? Who is right?
