This was the second of his books that I've read. They are lovely books with well developed, mostly likeable characters, that meet other interesting people in interesting places. Makes you want to travel.

A mystery romp through Provence and Monaco by an expatriate Englishman and an American woman who served in the Israeli army at one time.

Maybe it was the setting - southern France, palm trees, Monaco. Or maybe the characters - roguish Bennett, confident Anna, mysterious Poe, etc. Yes, there's lots of adventure and close calls, but it reminded me of the movie It Takes a Thief and I could imagine the 1960s soundtrack as our heroes try to stay one step ahead of the bad guys.

I loved this book. And I paid particular attention to the setting in Provence since I am going there soon. Charming, quick moving, funny.
