I am reading this as I am a stalwart Collins fan. Through 300 pages of folderol I am quite disappointed in the author and the present publisher. This publisher definitely needs an editor on staff: it is replete with misspellings, wrong words, and non-words (I hope that at least these non-words are spelled correctly.), as well as improper punctuation and capitalization. Since when is the first word in a sentence not capitalized?) How this mass of drivel was first accepted for publication while his initial effort, Iolani, was summarily rejected should be worthy of more than one academic treatise. Well, on with it! Lets find out how the Goths whipped the Roman rump in round one! This is partly a story of retribution and partly the Christian Church versus the heathen Temple of Serapis. And, for good measure the Roman Emperor cares not for the fate of Romehe happens to be elsewhere and safe. Nero may have fiddled while Rome burned, but Honorius ignors the issue and has a good time.
