I read several chapters of this book to my 5-year old son every night. The graphics are wonderful! The sections are short (typically two facing pages for each animal) and just enough information to peak an interest without overwhelming. I was amazed how much my son absorbed from our readings. The next day I would hear him reciting (practically word for word) the text about one of the animals we'd read about. I would highly recommend this series to anyone interesting in providing more educational material for a young reader. I imagine it would be great for more advanced readers to read on their own, too.
