From the moment I opened this book until the time came to close it, I was fascinated with the lyrical and powerful writing of Craig Childs.

He takes the reader from mountain lion to mosquito with a skill rarely encountered in nature writing. It's all interesting!

Straightforward and knowledgeable without a hint of being pedantic, he puts you right there in his wanderings to see how animals live in their world.

I'll definitely be buying more of his books.
