This book is about a 16-year-old, who feels abandoned by her mother at a time when she needs her the most. Not only is it Christmas, but she is living in a new town, and then she winds up in the hospital with what only looks like a broken finger. The ensuing events make for a captivating and interesting story that pulls the reader in and keeps your interest until the end--when you want to read more, so you will want to find the two remaining books to the trilogy--"Lifted Up By Angels" and "Until Angels Close My Eyes".
According to School Library Journal, the target audience would be students in grades 8-10. Another review suggested it would appeal to teens and pre-teens. I enjoyed it and I'm definitely out of my teens.
