This was the first book I read by Nora Roberts. I had the impression that she wrote sappy romance novels, but I was mistaken. In this book she expertly combined mystery, suspense, murder, and romance into a capivating story that was beautifully written. I have never been to Wyoming, but her descriptions painted such a vivid picture for my imagination that I am interesting in visiting Wyoming now.

Once again, Nora Roberts superbly writes a murder mystery that keeps you turning the pages. The heroine is very likeable because she is imperfect like most of us. It was gratifying to see her successfully reach each milestone during her recovery process from a horrifically tragic event. The best part was she didn't have to do it alone. She makes some wonderful friends in Angels Fist, Wyoming, and I guarantee you will fall in love with each one of these characters. This includes the reluctant hero, Brody, who did not sign up for the job and never wanted any part of the action. But he's a keeper! The dialogue throughout the book is wonderful because it makes you feel as if you are right there watching the story unfold. That is the gift of a good writer and Nora Roberts has hit the mark again!

This is the second Nora Roberts book that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. In this story, Reece Gilmore is trying to put her life back together after being the sole survivor of a brutal crime back in Boston. She has been drifting around the country and settles down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming because that is where her car broke down and she ran out of money. She takes a job as a short-order cook in the local diner and tries to act as normal as possible. She is doing an okay job of it until she goes hiking one day and witnesses a brutal murder. She is the only witness, and the police can't find a body, or a missing person, or any evidence of a crime. No one believes her except for a gruff loner named Brody. Everyone else thinks she is having flashbacks from the crime back in Boston. Reece must prove that there was really a murder or else she has fears for her own sanity. I just couldn't put this book down - the mystery kept me guessing until the very end.

I loved this book! For anyone who would turn away just because it's Nora Roberts and she's high royalty of romance writers.. DON'T! This is a suspenseful novel set in a beautiful small town in Wyoming. I loved everything about this novel and couldn't put it down! The two leading characters aren't perfect or flat, and you won't be disappointed with the action and pace of the novel either! I am recommending this to all my fellow readers!

ooohhhh, another good one by Nora Roberts. I'm not sure that I've read anything that I haven't liked of hers so far. This one has got a lot of mystery in it. Very good.

This wasnt the best by Nora Roberts in terms of her standard romantic suspense titles, but I did enjoy the story. I thought Reece was a likeable character and once I learned why she was so jittery and tense, I felt a lot of empathy for her. She came across as a very believable character, having experienced what she went through in her previous life and I thought she was very brave for taking charge of her life and trying new experiences, despite her anxiety. I liked Brody immediately and didnt let his gruff exterior fool me. Reeces boss, Joanie and coworker, Linda Gail were wonderful supporting characters. The story flowed well, but was a little predictable, especially when the killer started stalking Reece, trying to make her think she was going crazy. I guessed early on who the killer was, but enjoyed finding out why he did it at the end.

Overall, this was a good story and fans of Nora Roberts and romantic suspense stories will enjoy it, but may not be blown away by it.

What I love about all Nora Roberts books are the rugged lead men and the strong leading female roles... and this one is by far one of the better that I've read. The love story is great and the fast pace of this suspenseful story keeps the pages turning. It's a great read!

This book is a prime example of Nora Roberts recent years as an author. It is bold and exciting and holds you spell bound from cover to cover! The book has everything that a reader could want. It has mystery, action, romance and a great plot. The conclusion was a shock to me but it made a lot of sense with the flow of the story. It is definitely worth reading.

Reece Gilmore is a woman who is haunted by a tragedy in her past. She moves from town to town doing odd jobs. She always knows when it's time to move on. When she gets to Angels Fist, she finds herself in a place where she makes new friends. She finds herself with a job she's great at. It's a job she wasn't sure she could do again; she just had too many ghosts from her past. She finds herself settling down and fitting in. Then one day, when she's hiking in the surrounding mountains, she see's a murder...

Nora Roberts always writes a very enjoyable book. The setting is exquisite, but I did not like the main characters much and was able to guess the murderer long before the book's ending. Still worth the read.....the lady can write!

Reece Gilmore knows there's a killer in Angel's Fist, even if Brody, despite his seeming impatience and desire to keep her at arm's length, is the only one willing to believe her. When a series of menacing events makes it clear that someone wants her out of the way, Reece must put her trust in Brody-and herself-to find out if there is a killer in Angel's Fist before it's too late.

This book was one of the four Nora Roberts novels made into TV movies for Lifetime TV.

A fun read.

"The sole survivor of a brutal crime back East, Reece Gilmore settles into Angel's Fist Wyoming--temporarily, at least-- and takes a job at a local diner. One day while hiking...she sees a couple arguing [though her binoculars]...suddenly the man's hands are around the woman's throat.

By the time Reece reaches a rough loner named Brody the couple is gone. When authorities comb the area where the attack took place they find no trace that anyone was ever there...

No one in Angel's Fist seems to believe Reece--except Brody..."
