Faster paced and more action packed than Da Vinci Code. Dan Brown's intricate and intimate descriptions transport the listener into the action and establish a very high benchmark for when this Robert Langdon "prequel" makes it to film. Like Da Vinci Code, listeners knowledgeable about Church history will need to overlook minor innacuracies, but with the level of action now approaching that of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series or even some early James Bond storylines, that is not much to ask. The book has been abridged so well for this audiotape series that it is difficult to tell anything has been removed.
