Finally we get back to the ways of the first books of the series. Nothing about saving the planet or recycling etc etc etc like in the last few. This all goes back to the this is my flock and our adventures type of books. Though it does leave one HUGE cliff hanger (to be finished up in the next book which will be the final book), this one was rather interesting though I wish it had more. It just seemed like the story just stopped and you're left wondering what the heck!! But still, at least James has made progress towards bringing back the flock I loved!

If you are following this series, then by now you know that these "birdkids" have spent the whole series trying to save the world. Well in this book, they get a chance to stop the Doomsday Group from destroying the world. Fang has left the group and created his own gang. However the Doomsday threat is too big for his small group and he contacts Max and invites her group to join his group hoping that their combined power and skills will be enough to overcome the threat.

I can't decide whether I like the split group or not. I was shocked at Fang's choices for his group and disappointed in him. I think Max handled the situation pretty well considering she was working with a broken heart. I found the Doomsday Group to be incredibly annoying and I thought the rallies went on much longer than needed. The cliff-hanger ending was heartbreaking and will have people jonesing for the next book.
