So wonderful that Julie Anne Long is back with this new series, and at the top of her game! I loved this book, maybe even a bit more than the first one, "Lady Derring Takes a Lover", but that may just be because it's fresher in my mind.
The first time through, I was so eager to see what happened next that I skimmed some pages, so then I had to do a second, slower read. I'm so glad I did because the writing is beautiful, the story is original, and the characters, even the minor ones, are so well drawn.
Top quality historical romance.
