This is the second book of the Confluence trilogy and sadly it suffers from middle of the trilogy issues.
Even for that problem its interesting and gets into the nature of the Confluence and why its there. It also goes more into the rebellious Angel and her coming to the Confluence, as well as Yama's powers and what they can do.
It was worth slogging through and enjoyable, though not as enjoyable as the first or third book.
