This book bundle includes three separate ebooks about the ancient world, including Egypt, Greece, and Rome. This compilation came out in 2018. This is an excellent choice if you are looking for ancient History in broad strokes.

ANCIENT EGYPT
Captivating History explains the reason for the pyramids and temples. It took over 1000 years for the Egyptian Civilization to fall. Once Egypt was split into separate kingdoms, the tradition of a united Egypt fell apart. The author recounts a large number of murders of Egyptian leaders. The author also tells the story of Caesar, Cleopatra, Mark Antony, and Octavian. The death of Cleopatra brought an end to the Egyptian Pharaohs and allowed Rome to take over Egypt. Octavian used Egypt as a stepping stone to the luxuries of India.

This book ends with an explanation of the mystique of Egypt. First, the Rosetta Stone unlocked the story of the early Egyptians as never before. Then, when King Tut's burial place was unearthed, Egyptmania came into full bloom.

ANCIENT GREECE
This book was fascinating; the author spent time explaining the dark ages of Greece and the profound effect it had on life during that time. The Mycenaean Civilization cratered, and writing disappeared, so there are no records of that time. As people formed into groups, they were led by chieftains along kinship lines. As the population increased, aristocrats took over the ruling regions. This book also explains how democracy emerged in Greece.

ANCIENT ROME
This ebook separated the History of ancient Rome into four parts
- the Roman kingdom started with Romulus and ended in the 6th Century BCE,
- the Roman Republic brought Julius Caesar and Cicero,
- the Augustian Empire (aka The Augustan Principate),
- the Diocletian Era is named after the man who restored efficient government to the empire after the near anarchy of the 3rd century.

Generally, this History is seen through the actions of the Roman world's kings, leaders, and emperors. By watching the activities of each Roman leader, it was easy to overlook the rise and fall of Rome's fortunes. The timeline was helpful.
