jjares reviewed Ancient Egypt?s Most Famous Royal Family: The Lives and Deaths of Akhenaten, Nefertiti, and Tutankhamun on + 3413 more book reviews
This book explains how Akhenaten changed the theology of Egypt single-handedly and created a new central city in Amarna. There was also an extensive explanation of Queen Nefertiti and Tutankham. It is unknown when Nefertiti died or if she ruled after her husband. After DNA and CT scans, we know that Tut died of a combination of malaria and infection after a broken leg.
Some of the more interesting info was about the short term that Amarna existed; after Akhenaten died, the capital at Amarna emptied. Akhenaten's statuary was defaced, and the population returned to the old religion. The artwork in King Tut's burial place also had images of the ancient faith. This book offered an interesting analysis of this famous royal Egyptian family.
