First I think that it needs to be said that this book is aimed at a young audience and so certain omissions or evasions which I'd find more annoying for a history book aimed at adults or older adolescents were more forgivable here. It doesn't whitewash it so much that it seems grossly distorted, which is better than what far too many history books aimed at children do. As a general overview of immigration's history it does a good job of showing the major and minor streams of immigrants who came to America. I'd recommend it for 4-8 graders.
