The lives of forty-five American woman are discussed; some historical and some present day. I enjoyed reading about Sarah Winnemucca, a Paiute who spoke both her native language and English, who could read and write and later lectured about her culture. Modern day women are also featured; Elizabeth Dole, Sally Ride, Geraldine Ferraro, Sandra Day O'Connor, Condoleeza Rice, Barbara Walters and Jackie Joyner-Kersee to name a few. Sometimes a bit dry but also interesting!
