Expect lots of twists and emotional upheavals in this one, folks, but nothing that rips your guts out. Jack, duke of Trent, not only actively pursues Merry, the lovely and outspoken American heiress engaged to his twin brother, he seriously lusts for her, making some deliciously intimate scenes that almost made me swoon. Oh yeah, I liked this guy even though he breaks her heart along the way. But he's drawn to Merry's plucky and open nature while at the same time is wary of what he believes is her fickle heart. Great characterizations across the board with plenty of engaging conversations and heartfelt revelations. This is a book for your keeper shelf. 5 stars.
