Historical fiction. Starts in post-Civil War Richmond where Arabella works in a gambling house in order to support her mother and siblings. A gentleman takes interest in her and her life is forever changed. She spends her life caring for her family making sacrifices that many would not. She ends up one of the wealthiest women of that time. A moving story and characters that will stay with me for quite some time!!
