Wow. I'm so surprised by this book (and not in a good way) because I love Beth Harbison. This book was very choppy and uneven. It centers around Erin who is a single mother in her late thirties. Although it's been twenty years since she broke up with her high school sweetheart Nate she's still pining after him and wishing they hadn't split up. When her boyfriend Rick proposes, Erin finds herself thinking of Nate. When Erin runs into Nate unexpectedly, the two have a hot, instant passion before Erin discovers that he's married. This book was not so great, mainly because the author alternated being past and present with her chapters. It was a bit distracting and annoying.

The book description sounded good & I've enjoyed all of Beth Harbison's previous books. I finished the book, but wasn't all that happy about it. I found the main character to be unsufferable. It's been 20 years - just get over it already! I remember my first love well, but I haven't suffered horribly because of it, in fact I'm probably a better person now....Erin, the character in this book however is not.

This book was just sweetly written.. it is a realistic fairy tale for adults.. It did make me sit and think about my first love and wonder what he was up too... It is a heartwarming book that makes you feel every kind of emotion you can.

Great book. Have to really pay attention when reading since it jumps between past & present.
