sad book....but i sure loved it!!! it makes you look at life in a different persective!

Great book, it touched me in ways that alot of books havent before. I am not a young adult but enjoyed it very much. and Lurlene McDaniel actually writes CLEAN young adult books,. so you can feel safe handing her books over to your pre-teens/teens.
The book was sad yes, but it really showed the great bonds of friendship. Jory&Melissa's relationship was unique and I was almost envious of their having each other to get through such a tough time.
I also liked this book not only for all the characters Lurlene has created but Jory in particular. Jory's family has a lot of money but she never flaunts it or acts stuck up. I thought that was refreshing since you see all these books with rich brats, Gossip Girl, Clique etc. . . But Jory stays by melissas side and its very heartwarning it shows you TRUE friendship not STATUS!
I loved this book, it has the two books in one. So order this edition, its just more cost effective! haha this book has heartache, love, true friendship and family troubles and love, I highly recommend this book :P

This was a very sad story, but I enjoyed it. It's definitely written on the teen level though.
I love it and defiantly recommend it!
