I enjoy McMillan's writing style. It is so smooth and her characters are well-fleshed. I appreciate that her characters have aged with her, although I'm not so certain that a younger audience would enjoy this book. Georgia is facing her 55 birthday. Her daughters are grown and she is asking if she is willing and able to make big life changes. Part of deciding how she came to this point in her life is remembering the men in her life. I could empathize with hoping that men who meant something, but were at the wrong time or left a fond memory, one hopes they are happy and settled. One part that seemed far-fetched was how incredibly accomplished everyone was. The younger generation was finding their ways, but the 50+ all seemed to have landed on their feet and were doing so very well... really, because I still have a few friends who are barely scraping by. I guess it is fiction, though, and is one of her more feel good books, w/o as many difficult situations as "Who Asked You". I enjoyed her take on race and relationships and continue to hope that we are getting closer to color-blind. Book received through goodreads contest with expectation of fair/unbiased review
