An excellent book for those days when just nothing seems to go right. We read this book to show that not every day is perfect and that moving to Australia probably wouldn't help (it's part of the book...). My older son sympathises with Alexander and tells him to go to sleep and that tomorrow will be a better day.

This is an excellent kid's book. I remember how much I loved it when I was little, so I picked it up to read to my daughter. It's just as much fun as I remembered it. It's nice to see that there are some books that hold up over time.

One of my favorite childhood books! My mom works in a daycare and for fear of the children acting out more than usual she wont take it to class! See she has... we will call them The Alexander classroom!lol

I love this book! You know when you wake up and stub your toe, spill your coffee, get a flat tire, and manage to burn dinner? All in the same day? That's what this book is about. Some days are just bad days, but it's okay.

CUTE BOOK
One of my all-time favorite children's books!!!
I've read this so many times I can quote from memory - yet, it never gets old. It's fantastic. When my daughter lets me pick out her bedtime stories at night I almost always choose this book as one of them.
Enjoyable for kids and adults alike - after all, who wouldn't want to move to Australia after a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day?? :-)

"Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day", by Judith Viorst, helps children learn that everyone has a bad every once in a while, even "in Australia". In perticular, Alexander is having the worst day ever. Everything seems to be going wrong. Throughout the book Alexander makes comments that he's going to move to Australia. Then the book concludes that even in Austrailia, people have bad days.

I'm a 36-year old male and this has been my favorite book for as long as I can remember.

Well, it qualifies as at least a semi-classic of children's literature, but the sociologist in me tells me that it encapsulates a lot of what's wrong with American children. Stop whining! Millions of children would love to have food like lima beans to eat, or any kind of pajamas, or a mother and father. This kid is going to be a problem later in life.
The classic and popular childrens book is about Alexander and his adventures in his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day!

This is supposed to charm readers?!? What a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad book. If you weren't in a bad mood before you read this book, you will be after. First off, who wants to read all this terrible stuff to their child? Second, let's not teach our children that just because something happened when they got out of bed, the whole day will be bad. Third, the book never does get good in the end. The kid just keeps on having a terrible day and no one listens to him. I read this one time, and now it's going in the garbage because I don't think any child should be exposed to this.
