I agree with J, above or below me, the book is a good one and is mixed with personal accounts of what Aftermath had to clean up and also how the company was started. The author also goes into his own life, but not enough to make it boring. A little about his feelings, etc.
I learned a lot and am very happy I read it.

This was a fascinating book written by a crime-writer who works for Maxim magazine on the side, who decides to learn more about the people who clean up after suicides, homicides, industrial accidents, and unattended deaths. To do this, he shadows a company called Aftermath, Inc. who sends out teams to clean up after biological catastrophes for about six months. He describes in death some of the death scenes he visited with the Aftermath crew, and there are bits here and there that are not for people with weak stomachs. Nearer the end of the book, the author tended to get philosophical about death and the impact of crime on the family members left behind. On the whole, a very good read that kept me turning the pages.

Gross, but I couldn't put it down! Who ever thought about who cleans up after a murder, suicide, or terrible accident? This is a look into the lives of the people who do. The clues they find after the detectives have left that have helped solve crimes is fascinating.

It was a good book overall, but I thought the title to be a bit misleading. For me, it went too much into the history of the crime areas and the company itself, and not into detail about the crime scene (the gory, disgusting parts); there were some of those though! Quick and interesting read, but left many things to the imagination.

First off---a warning----you MUST (or I strongly recommend) having a strong stomach for this book. Don't read while you eat anything lol. Very gross details but that is the life for the techs in Aftermath, Inc. I learned a lot and I found it fascinating, maybe because i'm in a Pathophysiology class in college? Highly recommend if you are interested in this kind of thing, but NOT for the faint of heart!
