I enjoyed this book. However, this is NOT a paranormal or urban fantasy book (in other words, DON'T go by the cover). If you are not a sci-fi fan, you will probably NOT enjoy this book. This book has been marketed by the publisher incorrectly. It is akin to marketing a murder mystery as a romance because the detective has a love interest. That is how badly the marketing of this book has missed the mark.

This is straight up sci-fi of the cyberpunk variety. Apocalyptic. Dystopian.

I thought the writing was lyrical and evocative. The book is written from multiple points of view, which was unexpected and jarring at first, but I think, in the end, it added to my enjoyment of the book. It adds to the mood and atmosphere.

For those who started reading SF with "Neuromancer" in the 1980's, this book will be welcome. It is not the drivel of most novels today. Definitely look forward to another book from this author! This is SF at its roots. (Don't go by the cover art which seems to be the typical UrbFan cover art)

I really disliked this book. Couldn't possibly care less about the characters or what passed for a plot. Not planning on reading any more books by this author.

I really wanted to like this one and was a bit disappointed. The premise is great and it started out okay, but with the constant jumping between the characters I just lost what little connection I had with them. It's hard to care about them when you're reading about them a couple pages here and a couple pages there. You really didn't get to know them that well. That said, I still like the storyline and it served it's purpose as an afternoon beachread.
