I loved sMothering by Wendy French. I didn't like Going Coastal as well, but it had some redeeming qualities. I did not like After the Rice period. I didn't find one likable character in the book. The main character was extremely self-involved and selfish. There were some funny moments, but not enough to make the book worthwhile.

Not one of my favorites. Didn't care for the ending at all!

I laughed hysterically through this authors first book "sMothering" so I was anxious to read this book but it just didn't live up to my expectations.

There was a lot of pointlessness in this book and the ending left a lot of things unanswered. If it was a commentary on life (where a lot of things ARE pointless and things ARE left unanswered) then it was very good. But if you like your readings to be tied up and everything to explain itself then this is not for you. It wasn't really for me.
Megan has a lot of problem, after only being married 10 months..such as Matt's belching Uncle Tony, residing on the air mattress in the basement, her sister Andrea nesting in on their couch. There are the dueling mothers in law, bent on double booking the newly weds. And don't forget the incontinent terrier.Megan's unweaned niece (aka the Pink Tyrant) is left in her care. Between all that she has to do, and a huge decision only she and Matt can make, she find herself in marital chaos she never imagined, but must somehow manage.
Hilarious, as expected! I enjoy her writing.
Nice and easy read. Well written.
Megan is married. Now what to do? She does not want children, she wants to get a college degree and have a life, and everyone knows that you cannot have a life with children.
She is late. Is she or is she not pregnant? And if she is, what should she do? How can she tell her husband, who also does not want children? What about her parents?
And her sister is going crazy. Her older perfect sister with a 6 month old baby is actually having problems. And their brother is trying to help. And her husband's uncle shows up. As does her younger sister.
Life.
Well written, amusing at times, but I do not like Megan all that much, nor the ending.
