A fun to read science fiction romance by Jayne Ann Krentz in one of her aka by-lines. Takes place on the planet called Harmony--a world where there is maze of green glowing passageways beneath the planet's surface constructed by an ancient lost and long gone civilization. There's lots of paranormal types on Harmony, including para-archaeologists like the heroine Lydia Smith.
Helpful Score: 1
Lydia Smith is trying to salvage her career in para-archaeology while dating the most dangerous man in town. Then she stumbles across a dead body and the fun really starts. A different world. Very entertaining.

Futuristic romance and suspense. A good book that I had a hard time putting down.

I guess you had to read the first one to get into this one. Frankly, a book set in a futuristic, alternate planet doesn't hold my attention. Give me a historical any day. But, I made it to page 25, which is where I gave up when I learned that the heroine of the book has a pet dustbunny that eats pretzels. OKâ¦

This is book 2 of the series - and you really need to read book 1: After Dark to truly understand all of what is going on.
Lydia Smith is basking in the glow of her new romance with Emmett London when Mercer Wyatt, the guild boss is shot and nearly killed in an attempted murder. On his way into surgery, Mercer names Emmett as the new temporary guild boss to take over until he recovers. Lydia despises everything about the guild as guild politics tend to trump other authorities on the planet Harmony. In the meantime, Lydia is having difficulties of her own, a man has summoned her to see him indicating that he has information about her "lost weekend" when she got lost in the alien catacombs beneath the human cities, but when she goes to see him, he is dead. So Lydia and Emmett are both trying to solve their own mysteries.

Another great romantic, paranormal romance. She is great.

I love this author, no matter which name she is writing under. This is the story of Lydia Smith, who lives over a hundred years in the future and is a para-archaeologist, dating the completely sexy, handsome and very powerful head of the local Guild. Along the way is a mystery and a few murders, nothing too distracting to their love story. A definite recommendation!

This picks up the story that was began in AFTER DARK. I liked it, and actually felt that both should have been put together. Still good romantic suspense on a world where paranormal is normal.
A fabulously entertaining read!
If you are looking for something differant, this is the book for you..VERY differant....
From Lydia's determination to protect Emmett, to his worries about her feelings for ghost-hunters, we are constantly waiting for the explosions to begin. However, Jayne Castle, knows what we want. I just loved the Restoration Ball and The DRESS. Two hearts wanting the same thing but scared to reach out too quickly. The suspense and stirring adventure are not overshadowed by the romance, and the thrilling conclusion is wonderfully enhanced by Fuzz and a number of unusual and fasinating characters. Could not put it down.
Finishing the storyline begun in "After Dark", Lydia Smith and Emmett London have to face both her prejudices against Guild men and her "Lost Weekend". Lydia receives a strange phone call from a retired professor and arrives at his location to find him deceased. At the same time, Emmett has to step in as temporary Guild boss when Wyatt, his biological father, is shot and left for dead. The resulting chaos creates even more tension for the couple than in the previous book...
I enjoyed this story just as much as the other Harmony books - just enough suspense and tension, and enough unexpected twists to be entertaining.

I love this series of books !
Well written, the characters and plot keep you interested from the start to the end.

This series of scifi romance are just plain fun. Castle does a great job of scifi settings, psychic undertones and romance interplay. My daughter and I both enjoy and look forward to her next book.
I love this series. It really uplifts my mood when these tough economic times start to bring me "down". I have read them so much I had to order an extra set, because my first set was falling apart!
I enjoyed this one as much as the others in the series -- an easy, fun read.
This is a great addition to the Harmony story. I love Lydia and her Fuzz! She's always getting into trouble but still she's extremely smart. She puts things together a lot quicker than a lot of heroine's. I can just imagine how good looking Emmett is!!!
jayne castle needs to stick to writing as jayne anne krentz. i defintely give this book a thumbs down. the storyline was not put together.
I loved this one! Great read and keeps you wondering.
Really enjoyed this part 2 of the "other world series" by Jayne Castle aka. Amanda Quick, aka. Jayne Ann Krentz
I really enjoyed this book. It must have been the second in a series of Kayne Castle books, because the first book I read "After Dark" has the same people.
I really liked this book!
Happy Reading!

Great Sci-Fi book, great author
This is actually Jayne Ann Krentz writing under a pseudonym. :)
This is the sequel to After Dark. Set in the futureworld of Harmony, After Glow is a romantic suspense story with a strong dose of the paranormal. Lydia Smith is still searching for answers about her Lost Weekend; but now she also has to worry about another dead body, trying to keep a wealthy client happy, and saving her boyfriend from the clutches of the local Guild or somebody's hired assassin. Can she work in time for a wedding or two?
GREAT BOOK, FAST READ, SHE'S GOT THE MOST INTERESTING STORY LINES
Enjoyable Read. Krentz as Jayne Castle continues her excellent use of words.
This is the sequel to After Dark. Another really good read, with strong characters and interesting plot-lines. It was nice to revisit Lydia and Emmett to see what they've been up to and how far they've allowed themselves to fall in love and trust each other.
Back cover:
Life is complicated for Lydia Smith. She's working at that tacky, third-rate museum, Shrimpton's House of Ancient Horrors, trying to salvage a career in para-archeology - and dating the most dangerous man in town. Just when she thinks she might be getting things under control, she stumbles over a dead body and discovers that her lover has a secret past that could get him killed. Just to top it off, there's trouble brewing underground in the eerie, glowing green passageways of the Dead City.
Of course, all of these problems pale in comparison to the most pressing issue: Lydia has been invited to the Restoration Ball and she hasn't got a thing to wear.

Always fabulous.
I just could not get into this book. It is set in the future and just did not grab me. This is my first attempt at reading this author
Paranormal romance
Another tale set on Castle's planet, Harmony, where dust bunnies aren't dangerous unless you see their teeth---but by then it's too late!
