I anxiously awaited the release of the 3rd book in the Lords of Vice series and I have to say that I am not disappointed...however, I didn't understand Frost's reaction when he finds out his best friend, the one he trusted to protect his sister, had taken her innocence - at the beginning of the story, when Regan was 15 years old, he caught Regan and Dare kissing and because of this, he sends her off to boarding school, where she remains for 5 years, yet his only reaction to their sleeping together is to confront them and then kick Dare out of his house. He didn't challenge him, or kick his butt, nothing...just suggested that perhaps he would find accommodations at their club more to his liking. Also I am bothered by the fact that Dare never told Regan that he loved her, not even after she tells him that she loves him. Other than that, I enjoyed the story, very fast paced, the main characters are interesting and unpredictable. Looking forward to Vane's story, followed by Saint, Hunter and Frost.

I did not like this book. About halfway through it, I considered giving up on it, but as I was stuck with nothing else to read, I continued with it. The book seemed to have no actual plot, until the second half when the author seemed to throw in some half-hearted attempts at suspense. The heroine came off as either too young and naive or too knowledgable and unladylike. It seemed to go back and forth between those extremes. To me, the hero seemed like he ended up with her only because she was handy, and his first love betrayed him. I wasn't fond of any of the secondary characters. I found her brother to be something of a jerk, and his family all seemed to be crazy. The ending was a bit over the top, but I was glad to see it end. Overall, I gave it 2 and half stars, as I have read much better, and much worse.

I discovered this series with this book. I love the Lords of Vice now and cannot wait to read all of the series. I love these books for the romance stories and tend to skip over the smut. The less smut, the more I like the book. I do like passion, though. Alexandra Hawkins is very good at writing passion. I admit, I did skip over a little when I felt passion merged to smut, but the story itself is so wonderful that I could easily overlook that part. Oh, to be Lady Regan and have a flock of men protecting you. Truly a wonderful read for the historical romance lovers like myself.

While I enjoyed this book, I will have to admit it felt like I'd read this book before. It felt like I'd read all about the stories of the Lords of Vice, the plot was predictable, right down to the final chapter. The whole relationship with the brother is a little forced at times and I didn't appreciate that the main character didn't tell her that he loved her in the end.

4 1/2* 1-Nighter Aside from being a bit pricey ($8 cover price for only 292 pages) I enjoyed this and "Till Dawn With The Devil" the 2nd book in this series. =)
