One of Scottoline's best books ever! Could not put this one down...had me from page one. Great way of writing: alternating between the two main characters, and using a chronological backward deal with the husband's story. Sounds weird but it works! Great ending....did not see that coming!
I admit I have read very few of Scottoline's books, but this one caught my interest. I am sooo glad it did!!!
Really kept me reading "just one more page." Sometimes I was not sure of how she manipulated situations a little unrealistically - but all in all a good read.
I will now have to give some of her others a chance!!

This is a hold-your-breath thriller of a once happy family going downhill when 17 year old Anna joins Maggie, Noah and Noah's autistic son after Anna's father dies. Anna and her mother have not seen each other in 16 years and they are ecstatic to welcome her.
AND so starts a plot to discredit Noah; Anna claiming he's sexually attracted to her and made advances many times. Then Anna is killed and Noah is arrested for her murder.
I really was into this story and my weary eyes couldn't put it down until finished. The ending was contrived and rushed, (thus 4 stars) but I really loved it.

Started out good- oh what will happen!? Ending was HORRIBLE- let's just throw something totally new into the mix and see how the readers like it... three stars.
The best book I've read in quite awhile! The story starts in the later days of a criminal trial, and slowly works its way backwards to the beginning of the crime. In doing so, the reader is given more and more information, but only bit by bit. It will definitely keep you reading, as the plot is unwound back to the beginning, with increasing tension as you discover the facts one by one. I really liked the seamless way the story is unfolded from the perspective of both the main characters. Each pertinent event is told from each person's viewpoint as they saw it happen. Excellent!!! D.
