This is an interesting tale of trapping in the Rocky Mountains and the West coast. I've read more about trapping in the mountains and found the best part was when the company was in California with the Spanish and their meeting with an American ship.

The trappers encountered many hazards and more then once lost all their goods to Indians.

As for the hunting, this group wouldn't have won any environmental awards. For example, once hunters brought back 97 deer tongues just to show the rest how many deer they saw.

I found it interesting there was only one 123-page chapter. Occasionally, the author would list a date separating the narrative, but often months would go between the dates.
