This book is so much fun! It has a heroine semi-retired pirate with a bad knee, magical friends but mostly enemies, and subtle messages about the patriarchy, the challenges of balancing motherhood and a career, and tyranny in the name of religion. But mostly it is a fun adventure. Can't wait until the next one.
