A stirring and disturbing short novel about pre-WWII Germany, written in the form of a series of letters.

A very short but poignant book. Brief letters, which only skim the surface of what happened then. But a complete story, which brings a humanized version of how the events then, effected various people and groups.

Really terrific, surprised me even though I had heard things about it. If you order a copy be sure to specify that it must be complete as there are bad editions out there.
