An old but relevant book for people who have struggled "successfully to alleviate profound stresses and regain manageability of their lives, eventually feel so uncomfortable and threatened by their new-found serenity that they deliberately return to their former miserable state." For people who happiness and recovery feels foreign thus return to their previous state, this is a helpful book. It is not for people who have an untreated biochemical/physiological depression causing their "misery."
