From the Publisher:

With over 2.5 million copies in print, The Act of Marriage has helped thousands of Christian couples maximize their joy in sexual union. The difference it's made has, without exaggeration, saved marriages. Pastors, doctors, and psychologists alike have endorsed the frank, practical insights shared by Tim and Beverly LaHaye. This updated and expanded edition gives a fresh, even more informative edge to an already definitive book. Greater details are included on such important topics as the key to orgasmic love and the value of Kegel exercises. New sections discuss "sex after sixty" and five reasons why God created sex. All supported by Bible passages from the clear, understandable New International Version and by the very latest findings in the fields of medicine and sociology. For engaged couples and newlyweds who want to make lovemaking a joy from the start . . . for couples who have been married for years and want to maintain the flame or rekindle the embers . . . for every husband and wife who wants to be a better lover--here are the insights into each other's bodies, psychosexual makeup, and need for tender, unselfish affection that can help you achieve your goal.

WONDERFUL book!!! I got married at the young age of 18. I had a long history of childhood sexual abuse too. I found this book about 3 or 4yrs ago and wish I had it when I first got married. This book changed my view of the "Marriage bed" and has opened my eyes.

I plan on giving this to my sister as a wedding gift.

I read this book right before I got married and found it extremely helpful. I would totally recommend it.

Personally, I found too many blanket statements in this book to take it well.

Some of the info in this book is good, but I found Kevin Leman's _Sheet Music_ to be more helpful regarding sex and the Christian marriage.

This book was a HUGE help to my marriage. It is NOT a "How-To" book for "doing it." It is a therapeutic book designed to help you overcome obstacles to intimacy, and to help each partner understand their spouse better.

This book is written from a strong Christian perspective, that wasn't clearly identified at first. FYI

I found this book to be very conservative & the ideals expressed to be antiquated. If you want something more modern w/ a little more candor, I recommend Dr. Kevin Lehman's 'Sheet Music'.
