After having spent a significant amount of time in Tijuana, this book reminds so much of those experiences while also revealing more about life along the Mexican border. I really liked how author Luis Urrea chose to organize this book - into many small stories. Not only can I better imagine what life looks likes there, but I feel like I can smell it, feel it, and even taste it. At times this wasn't the easiest book to read, but it certainly was hard to put down.
