I loved this book, it is about a couple who adopted 8 special-needs children from the ages of 6 months to 15 years in addition to their 7 biological children. Each child was brought to them in such a special way. She stresses that all children are precious in God's sight whether their little bodies and minds are perfect or not. They fostered 50 children thru the years and chose to adopt the ones no one else wanted. There were two crack-addicted babies born to a 13-year-old prostitute; one with severe emotional problems whose was tortured by his birth parents, a Nigerian boy born without lower arms and legs; and a five-year-old quadriplegic from India who weighed only 16 pounds at adoption. She wasn't judgemental of the biological parents for their faults which impressed me. The day to day struggles they chose to face with love and courage are amamzing. They home-schooled their large family, on a 200-acre Wisconsin farm called "Acres of Hope."
They have an amazing testimony of love and scarifice. Without their open hearts and love these children would not have made it.
THey said it started with a verse God gave them Years ago, And whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me" (Matthew 18:5).
A very touching book.
