The book started out slow, which was not unexpected since The Heir was basically the same way. But once it got going, about 50 pages in, it held my interest. It is a story of loss, redemption and change, a story of human nature. It keeps you guessing who the villian is until the end.

Very slow moving; boring interaction among the characters. It was a chore to even finish the book, but I kept thinking it would get better. It finally did -- for the last 20 pages or so.

Pretty intresting. Kept my interest until the end. Enjoyed the main character and his wife. Loved the setting in an old building bookstore.
This is one that I would like to see a series using these main characters to solve the crimes.

This brilliant mystery is well written with an amazing number of surprise twists to the puzzling situation. Paul Robertson's many literary references and witty metaphors and puns help to satisfy one's mental appetite! This is a most intellectually stimulating read indeed!
