As a student at Academy X (Really the Horace Mann School), I found this a stunningly accurate portrayal of the private school system, and administration. Although somewhat exaggerated, it was a fun read.

This book was written by an instructor at a private school who I believe lost his job as a result.

There are 24 customer reviews on amazon.com, mostly with four or five stars. The New York Times review (June 13, 2006) was critical seeing it as cliched and reductive.
