Contemporary romance;A fast, easy read. This book did nothing for me - one-note characters, incidental background mystery, stilted conversation. I like this author, but this book was disappointing.

This is book #3 in Monroe's Mercenary series. I thought it was the weakest of the series. The plot was very weak and the characters were boring.

This story is about the third man in the Ready, Willing, and Able series - Hotwire. We met Claire in a previous story and she is a computer geek that also works at a nursing home and is very involved with two of the residents. She runs into Hotwire at her best friend's wedding and through a series of events they end up trying to solve a murder together. Lots of chemistry and excitement which is typical of Lucy Monroe books.

A fast enjoyable read. Not as much actual story drama as the other two books in this series but I enjoyed watching the relationship grow between Hotwire and Claire.

Of the 3 books in this series, I like Hotwire the guy and Claire the girl the best, but the story was the weakest. Still good, quick read. Perfect beach book.

A good, fun read to end a good series. The main characters met in book two and carries on much to the surprise of the characters. Her not trusting in her charm and him not looking for anything long term. Love the camaraderie between the hero and the characters from the book 1, Ready, and book 2 Willing and his family. Well told and makes you believe in the story. All three books are a good read for women and men equally.

Third installment but this book can stand on its own. Great story with great storyline and people to pull it off.

This is the weakest of the "Ready", "Willing" and "And Able" trilogy. Hotwire isn't as intense as either Wolf or Nitro but much worse (my opinion only, of course) is that he's manipulative. That makes him less than heroic to my mind and ruins the premise of the book. The plotting is interesting, though, so if you don't mind the disrespect he pays his ladylove by manipulating her you'll probably like the book.

book 3 in Lucy Monroe's merc. trilogy

from the back cover:

Claire Sharp trusts few people and relies on no one. But after her life is threatened, ex-mercenary Brett Adams blows into her self-contained world, full of southern charm, rugged good looks, and enough sexual experience to write a how-to manual... experience he makes it clear he'd like to use on Claire. She wants help fighting the bad guys, but she's not about to fall into Brett's bed. For one thing, the guy has a no-commitment clause that would stump most big-shot attorneys, and for another, despite her response to his sensual kisses, in Claire's experience sex isn't exactly fireworks and brass bands. Definitely not worth getting too excited over...

Brett plans to prove her wrong. He's never felt such a powerful combination of lust and friendship with a woman. He'll give her a white-hot pleasure like nothing she's ever known and she'll realize that some things in life are worth every risk. When the threat to Claire grows dangerously close, pitting them against deadly odds, Brett will do whatever it takes to save her. Because Claire Sharp has just found herself a man who's ready to bring it on, willing to do what it takes, and able to go the distance...
