This book is quite charming but it is from Mr. Groening's weekly cartoon in the LA 'underground' paper after the days when he made a good effort in composing his weekly offering, finding quite clever and amusing subjects. In the later days, when he was moving into more profitable fields leading to The Simpsons, the quality of the weekly cartoon diminished, in my opinion. Mr. Bukowski's 'Notes from a Dirty Old Man' was also a popular feature....
I enjoyed somewhat rereading these and note that this compilation was on the shelf at this branch library for 10.5 years, an unusual length of time, and that the book is fairly well read (i.e. somewhat worn).
