This was great! It was fast and fun, and I was really annoyed with myself for starting it at bedtime so I couldn't keep reading it all the way through. I'm not a big fan of mysteries, but this isn't just a mystery. It's got a lot of other things as well - a bit of romantic tension, suspense, humor, and Abby's pyschic abilities, which really make this story. There's a matter-of-factness to Abby's talents that made me accept them right away as a reader. Her talents also sound like a lot more fun than psychic abilities usually do. Hers are some of the first I've heard about that I wouldn't mind having myself! I wonder if she always knows the plots of books and movies before they're over....now that I wouldn't like. But anyway, very good book, and I'm definitely interested in continuing on with the series and finding out what happens to all the characters long-term!
Oh, and it says in the back that the author "drew from her career as a gifted clairvoyant and police psychic to create the character of Abigail Cooper." Hmmmmm.... Very interesting!

The 1st in a series, this is a great read! Fast and light, the characters are well written and colorful. I love Abby's sense of humor, and she's got a temper she's not afraid to use. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more of Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye!

This book was a HOOT! It was funny and suspensful. IT is easy to like and sympathize with Abby. She has amazing psychic gifts, but they aren't enough to keep her out of trouble.
I'd recomend this book to fans of light reading with lots of humour and a little suspense. It is an all around fun book to read.

This is a cute little mystery. One thing that bugged me no end: Where is her editor? Why didn't someone correct her grammar? Every time she said "between you and I," or "he gave it to Joe and I," I flinched. Other than that, it's reasonably well written and the plot holds together.

This is the first "cozy mystery" that I have read, and if they are all this enjoyable I will definitely be reading more! It is a fun book and I found myself completely drawn into the story & caring about what happened to the main character. Can't wait to read the other books!

Victoria Laurie never fails to impress me with her writing! I cannot believe I allowed this little gem of a book to sit on my TBR for so long. The story was so engaging, I devoured it in only 2 sittings!

All in all, I believe I like Martha Lawrence's Elizabeth Chase series better, but this was a nice light read and basically well done. The ending could have been a bit more developed, but the characters are quite good and the premise is interesting without being hokey. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series as this is a good start.

I completely enjoyed this book. It reminded me of the sookie stakehouse series but with out the otherworldly vampires of course. Abby Cooper is a easy character to relate and I am thirsty for more. I cant wait for the next book. If you like mystery with the supernatural then this is one to try.

First book of series and first time I have read anything from this author. I really like the protagonist, Abby Cooper, as a psychic and person. Abby quite accidentally attracts a killer and runs from her intuition and for her life. She meets a police detective, Dutch, and tries very hard not to fall in love with him and he with her. So the book has everything: murder, mystery, intuition and romance. Great read!

I really enjoyed this book. It was about a psychic intuitive who has her own business "reading" for her clients. She gets involved in a murder case as she helps a Detective that she meets on a blind date from an online dating service. He is not a believer, but soon has to agree that she might "have something", he's just not sure if she has an insight to the killer or knows him personally. Loved the characters and can't wait to read more of this series. If you like mysteries with a little bit of romance thrown in, this one is for you.

A mystery with a paranormal twist. This is book one in the Abby Cooper series. Abby Cooper is a professional phychic intuitive. She helps her clients by gently pushing them in the right direction to improve their lives. When one of her customers is murdered Abby investigates. Abby Cooper Psychic Eye is an engaging opener to the series. Not generally a fan of psychic-type books, I was a little wary when I picked this up at the bookstore, but it drew me in.
At times, the psychic reading sessions could get a bit cumbersome with the "I'm seeing" and the "I'm being shown" and "I'm being told" type language, which seems to be the industry jargon, but it wasn't too hard to overlook.

Wow, this was really good. Different to put down once I started, this book has just about everything. I like the hint of romance in future books. Look forward to more!
I can see the draw of writing an autobiography as fiction: you know the character, your life isn't exciting enough for a memoir, you can't think of anything else to write about. But usually they don't work. The author is too close to the source. She doesn't want to make herself look bad, or even worse, make the supporting characters look bad because her friends know it's them thinly disguised. That is a problem in this book. The author is a psychic and wrote about her life as a psychic and then put in some dead bodies. She goes into great detail about what it feels like to be a psychic - too much detail. Since this is fiction, have the psychic part be a little more simple. Have her have one super power instead of 5. All of the supporting characters are perfect. They're all generous and smart and funny and have no annoying (or interesting) traits. The main character comes off as a bitch because everyone else is being so nice to her, but she doesn't want to call them to say there's a killer after her because then they would catch the guy and the story would be over. Instead she starts a fight over nothing and goes off in a snit so she can be in danger in the next chapter. You can do better than these books.
loved it, will be reading more from this author. Just enough mystery for it to seem like a real mystery but just enough romance for it to seem like a summer quick read. Plus the psychic aspect was pretty neat since it was written by someone who makes a living as an actual psychic.

I really enjoyed this first in a series. It's so lightweight it's almost frothy, it's cute, it's got all the right cliches in all the right places. Abby Cooper is a real psychic and makes her living at providing advice to clients based on her psychic abilities. One of Abby's clients is found murdered and her gift gets her into trouble with the police, since she's describing things she ought not to know about. Abby doesn't seem to be very good at predicting her own fortune, which made for some funny moments. You're not going to have any profound insights or get sucked into the drama in this book, but I liked it. I thought it was sweet escapist reading and just what I wanted at the time.
Fun quick read. The first in a series. I had already read one of the later books and found this one a bit slower to get started. It's a good story if you want light reading.

This is the first book in the Psychic Eye Mysteries by Victoria Laurie. I really enjoyed this book. Abby Cooper is an interesting, funny and entertaining character. I like that she doesn't take herself too seriously, yet she is very serious about the work she does as a psychic intuitive. Laurie also introduces us to Dutch and Milo, two characters found in the other mysteries in the series (so far). I would encourage others to read it if they like paranormal mysteries. Abby is quite fun!

Great Book!
I normally like Victoria Laurie, but for some reason I just couldn't get into this book so i'm passing it on.
